Progressive International Microwave Rice and Pasta Cooker Set

Microwave rice and pasta cooker set from Progressive InternationalI really enjoy using this thing and have had at least one for the past twelve years. Now I have 4!

The secret to exceptional rice is to use a sufficient amount of water but not an excessive amount of water.

First add 1 cup of rice then cover with enough water so that if you stick your finger in the water and touch the rice, the water only reaches your first knuckle.
Place in a microwave at 1200 watts for 13 minutes. When you hear the timer is going off remove and let it sit (it's still steaming) for about five minutes, then open and use a fork to fluff. This makes about three cups of rice.

How about the pasta-cooking functionality? There's no point making microwave pasta. Microwaved pasta doesn't work because pasta needs to move around in the water in order to prevent it from sticking.

Nevertheless, you are free to steam veggies of all types! You are able to steam even fish, shrimp, shellfish, and Chicken too.

Why don't you try steaming cut up potatoes in soup broth with some garlic added then mash them for a delicious dish.

This set is really inexpensive, and great for people who value the simplicity of microwave cooking more than having gourmet rice.
