It is a pretty simple unit, but it gets the job done just like it should, just without a lot of fancy bells and whistles. It takes 8 cups of dry rice, which results in about 16 cups of cooked rice. It features 2 functions: "cook" and "keep warm" modes. The currently operating mode is indicated with led lights. It has a handy see-through glass lid that allows you to monitor the rice if you so choose. It aslso has steam vents and a condensation catcher to keep your rice from getting too soggy.

Handling this unit is simple, thanks to its stay cool handles which allow you to lift it anywhere. On top of that, the non-stick pan makes this really easy to clean.

So what is the downside to the Black and Decker RC436 16-Cup rice cooker? Basically, it is simply not as durable as some other rice cookers in this price range. But it does have a 1 year limited warranty, so that covers you for a decent amount of time. This is a good cooker if you're on a budget and don't need a lot of features.
